Optical Ocean's Nauticam Sony A7RV Ultimate Wide Angle Package

Optical Ocean's Nauticam Sony A7RV Ultimate Wide Angle Package* combines the Nauticam NA-a7RV Housing with dual Sea & Sea YS-D3 strobes and a glass 180mm dome port, extensions and zoom gear for the Sony 16-35mm f/2.8 GM lens. Also included in the package is a mini flash trigger, fiber optic sync-cords, and Kraken arms and clamps. Everything you need to shoot great stills with the Sony a7RV full frame camera.

Nauticam Sony NA-A7RV Underwater Housing

The NA-A7RV underwater housing for the Sony a7RV camera provides fingertip access to all key camera controls in a rugged and reliable aluminum underwater housing. Ergonomic camera control access is one of the defining strengths of a Nauticam housing, and the NA-A7RV continues this tradition. Essential camera parameter changes are made from the handles, without awkward reaches.
The NA-A7RV housing inherits the core design elements from the Nauticam pro DSLR range, and bundles them in a more compact package. A patented port locking lever allows lens changes to be made in seconds. Opening the housing for quick battery and media changes is fast and easy with the locking housing latches. All aspects of the system are a seamless extension of the camera.

Mission Control

Never miss a shot looking for a button or dial.  Regardless of where the control may be found on the camera, Nauticam engineers have placed that control on the housing where it is needed most.  Essential dials and buttons are within easy reach of the reinforced ergonomic handles.  Atop the housing, a dedicated lever allows quick switching between Still, Movie and S&Q (VFR Video) modes.  A dual thumb lever near the right handle actuates the REC and AF-ON buttons and a single lever near the left handle is for PLAYBACK.

Camera Compatibility

The NA-A7RV housing is compatible with both the Sony a7R V and the Sony a7 IV.  To use the Sony a7 IV, the 17433UK Conversion Kit is required. 

HDMI 2.0

A large bore M24 bulkhead is located at the front of the housing for use with HDMI 2.0 or HDMI 1.4 (with a step-down adapter to M16) external monitors and recorders.  An additional M10 threaded mounting position near the front center of the housing also makes using an external monitor even easier.  The a7R V can output 16-bit RAW video output to external recorders at up to 4K 60p.  

Vacuum Check and Leak Detection

The housing comes with electronics pre-installed for Nauticam's Vacuum Check and Leak Detection system, as well as the M14 Vacuum Valve (25624). This monitoring system provides constant updates on the water tight and safe-to-dive status of the housing. A simple color coded LED lighting system lets the user know that the vacuum is solid, or that the housing is losing vacuum. Leak detection is built into the same circuit, so if there is water intrusion, an audible and visual indication will occur. The Nauticam system is temperature compensated, eliminating false alarms caused by a change in outside temperature, or from a camera heating up on an action packed dive.

This high-performance strobe features superior consecutive firing capabilities, giving the ability to capture those critical moments.

High performance strobe

The latest D3 circuitry and light-emitting strobe produces a powerful guide number of 33. A newly developed high precision optical lens has been fitted over the two flash tubes to disperse an even light from the center to the edge. The beam angle will increase to 100×110° with standard diffuser accessories, and can be increased to 150×170° with an optional dome diffuser.

Superior consecutive firing capabilities

The YS-D3 utilizes larger capacity condensers compared with those used on competing strobes. In addition, the D3 is also equipped with a newly designed charging circuit. As a result, the YS-D3 will fire at GN16 continuously without any interval time! Even when the strobe is fired at GN22, the strobe will fire again within a mere 0.8 seconds.

When the YS-D3 is fired at Guide Number over 22, a two-stage ready-to-fire signals will be issued. For instance, after the strobe fires at full power of GN33, the strobe will inform you both visually and audibly when the condenser is charged to fire at GN22. Then, when the condenser is charged enough to fire at GN33, another different signal will be issued. This design allows you to fire more rapidly in scenes where you want to shoot as many pictures as possible

Target light with increased power

Featuring a uniquely designed aluminum heat diffuser, the target light is now powerful enough to be used as a dive light! (about 4x the YS-D2's brightness).

Excellent visibility

The YS-D3 has a backlight panel that is effective when shooting in dark environments. The indicator color on the back of the YS-D3 changes each time the position of the mode switch is changed. Blue (in DS-TTLII mode), light blue (in slave TTL mode), orange (in manual mode with pre-flash), and green (in manual mode without pre-flash) The positioning of the operation system is obvious during night diving.

Want to shoot video? Just choose the optional Kraken LTD 10000 video lights. 

The 10,000 lumen flood is paired with a custom built COB LED with a punch out in the center for a 1500 lumen spot beam. The custom COB LED allows for a drastically smaller light head size but still packs an amazing CRI of 90, resulting in a very natural and high quality light. Our three button design makes the light easy to control; quickly switching between modes or adjusting the brightness is just a simple button press.
