Further Information

Molded of clear polycarbonate to provide seamless construction and corrosion proof performance. This "Clearly Superior" design provides full view of the camcorder, control functions, and assurance the system is safe up to depths of 200 feet (60 meters).

The camera's large viewing screen can be viewed using the External Mirror featured on the side of the housing. The External Mirror is hinged to fold against the housing side for travel. Actual image will be reversed when viewed through the mirror.

A magnified Super-Eye Viewfinder is provided for enhanced viewing of the HF S21 camera's optical viewfinder. Canon HF S20 and HF S200 cameras do not feature optical viewfinders and must be viewed using the mirror on the side of the housing.

Controls for the LCD screen touch pad provide full access to setting white balance.

The base removes instantly with a unique toggle clamp for traveling or attaching of the optional Pro Video Lite 3 battery pack. The handle assembly detaches from the housing by removal of just two nuts for packing.
The housing accommodates Canon BP-807, BP-819 and BP-827 batteries.

Color Correcting Filters.
The included UR/Pro Color Filter provides color correction in tropical blue water with available sunlight up to 80 feet (24 meters). An optional filter #6441.81 is also available to achieve more natural tones in green water settings.

Lighting Options.

Watch your video quality improve dramatically by adding light to your system. The Pro-V8 LED Video Lite is the ultimate in easy and affordable video lighting. This light boasts a bright and even 45° angle of coverage over a 10 hour burn time. Color temperature is daylight balanced and usable with or without a color filter. Or opt for the professional grade coverage of the Pro Video Lite 3. This powerhouse features a super bright, high intensity halogen light and a 100° spread.

External Wide Angle and Macro Lenses.
The housing port features 67mm threads to allow for the direct attachment of external 67mm threaded macro lenses from Inon and Epoque. The exceptionally wide angle of the camera's native lens results in extreme vignetting when external wide angle lenses are attached. External wide angle lenses provide no optical advantage with these cameras.

Internal Wide Angle Lens Option.

Special ports are available for use with the Raynox DCR-730 high resolution wide-angle lens. Optional ports sold separately as dome port #9306 or flat lens port #9306.1. A 58mm-52mm thread adapter ring is required to attach the DCR-730 lens to the CX550 camera. Raynox DCR-730 lens and adapter ring not included. Lens and adapter ring not available for purchase through Ikelite.
