Further Information

Ikelite Housing for  Nikon D-300 Digital SLR Camera
Housing Shown With Camera, Lens and Lens Port — Sold Separately

Introducing a full-featured yet affordable underwater housing for the Nikon D-300 Digital SLR Camera. The compact, clear polycarbonate case provides visibility of its o-ring seals and corrosion-free performance up to a depth of 200ft (60m). Controls are provided for most camera functions and kept water-tight with Ikelite pioneered Quad-Ring seal glands--proven to be the most reliable method of sealing controls.

A full range of dome and flat ports accommodate most macro, wide-angle and zoom lenses. Port attachment is quick and easy with a simple locking system and clear view of the port o-ring seal. Lens port not included. A large zoom control knob can be comfortably reached without removing your hand from the handle.

The housing includes iTTL conversion circuitry that operates perfectly with current model Ikelite DS SubStrobes. See strobe requirements by serial number. A large dial on the back of the housing puts precise exposure control right at your fingertips.

The top (yellow) half of the exposure dial provides four 1/3 f/stop increments over or under flash compensation that is added to or subtracted from any compensation entered into the camera. The bottom (black) half of the dial provides seven manual power settings in half-stop increments.
Recommended Strobes

Other manufacturers' strobes can be used, but they cannot provide iTTL exposure or be adjusted manually through the housing. Sync cords for the attachment of Nikonos, Inon, or Sea & Sea strobes are available.

Controls are provided for every camera function except the Metering selector that surrounds the AE/AF button. Camera Flash Compensation button can be activated by your index finger while your hand remains on the handle.

"Stay depressed" control operates the White Balance, ISO and Qual functions on top left of camera body. AE/AF lock button can be activated with your thumb while holding the handle.

The Ikelite Super-Eye magnifier comes standard and offers enhanced visibility of the camera's viewfinder while wearing a diving mask. A "stay depressed" control unlocks the mode wheel for access of the live preview feature. The camera's large LCD screen can be clearly viewed through the back of the housing.

You won't feel like you're lugging around the boat anchor--the housing size and weight provide near neutral buoyancy and superb handling underwater. Card slot cover and battery compartment can both be opened without removing camera body from the tray for easy access in between dives.

The Release Handles allow easy attachment and removal of SubStrobe mounting arms at the touch of a button. Two screws remove the handle and tray assembly for traveling.

  • The dSLR housing measures 9.5" (24cm) wide including knobs; or 13.25" (33cm) wide with tray & handles.
  • The dSLR housing measures 6.75" (17cm) high; or 8" (20cm) high with tray & handles.
  • The dSLR housing without a port measures 6.5" (16.5cm) deep including knobs and port lock assemblies.
  • A housing complete with removable handle and tray assembly weighs 7.15 pounds (3.24kg) without port.
