Further Information

This flat port is a long standing member of our modular system and a favourite among professionals and advanced underwater photographers. When combined with a variety of extension rings it can accommodate a large array of macro lenses, ranging from 35mm all the way to 200mm, it is even compatible with lenses equipped with internal close up lenses, teleconverters or extension tubes.

The flat lens is made of BK-7 material, finely polished and coated with a superior Silicon Oxide coating (SiO2) on the external surface. This coating is not only a more resistant type of coating but has a 0.01% reflective index, improving light transmission. Additionally this SiO2 coating is a perfect match to the index of water, which naturally reduces reflections.

This AF/MF macro port has a side mounted knob that can connect to an optional focus gear mounted on the lens. This gives the user the possibility of manually focusing the lens. Manual focus can be very handy when shooting in low light, poor visibility or when using close-up lenses for high magnification, as the camera’s auto focus tends to struggle in these situations

For a list of the available extension and their dimension please visit the extensions rings section. A lens chart associated with your camera housing will inform you of the most current popular combination.
